The ageing society - Challenges and Opportunities
This interdisciplinary series of events organised by the Ruhr Science Forum examines the opportunities and challenges resulting from the Ruhr’s ageing society.
Besides the interests of individuals, special attention will be given to the analysis of the underlying social and economic conditions. The focus will be on the pivotal issue facing the Ruhr region: demographic change.
The event aims to identify approaches and future options in addressing an ageing society that could serve as models for Europe. An inaugural event introducing the subject of demographic change in all its breadth will kick off the series. The ensuing events, held at irregular intervals, will take the form of discussions, lectures or workshops and will be held on Mondays at various locations in the Ruhr.
